What-will-happen-FlierWhat will happen to the neighbours when the Earth floods?: Environmental poetry in the city

A 3 Week Course,
Thursday 13th – 27th November, 6 – 8 pm
At Waterstones Nottingham, Bridlesmith Gate, NG1 2GR
Cost: £60
Book through The Writing School Nottingham

What is environmental/eco/nature poetry? Is it a specific genre or a device for allegory. Are these kinds of distinctions important? And how do we write about nature when we live in a city? Looking at contemporary examples from poets including Louise Gluck, Kathryn Maris, Galway Kinnell, Les Murray and Mimi Khalvati, and through weekly writing exercises, this short course will challenge us to revisit nature poetry and write it ourselves. Writers at all levels welcome.
